Important Thing to know about Breast Cancer Treatment

The first thing patients and every woman need to know about breast cancer (as, indeed, about any type
of cancer): today it is not a sentence, the earlier the stage of the disease, the higher the chances of
defeating cancer completely. And even in the later stages, there are more and more opportunities to
deal effectively with the disease thanks to the emergence of modern revolutionary therapies.

Nevertheless, one of the main conditions on which the patient's life depends on the earliest possible
diagnosis.

Some of the tests and processes used for Breast Cancer treatment in India are the following:

  • Breast exam. The doctor will examine both breasts and underarm lymph nodes to check for nodules or other abnormalities.
  •  Mammography. Mammography is an x-ray of the breast. Mammograms are often used to detect breast cancer. If an abnormality is identified on a screening mammogram, the doctor may recommend a diagnostic mammogram to assess that abnormality more closely.
  • Mammary ultrasound. The ultrasound takes help of sound waves to generate images of deep structures in the body. Ultrasound can be used to determixne if a new breast nodule is a solid mass or a cyst filled with fluid.

Extract a sample of mammary cells for analysis (biopsy). A biopsy is the only way to make a diagnosis of
breast cancer. In the biopsy, the Cancer doctor in Delhi NCR uses a specialized needle guided by
radiography or another imaging test to remove a tissue nucleus from the suspicious area. Often, a small
metallic marker is left on the site within the breast to be able to identify the area more easily in
diagnostic tests for future imaging.

The biopsy samples are transferred to a laboratory for experts to analyze and determine if the cells are
cancerous. A biopsy sample is also analyzed to decide the type of cells involved in breast cancer, the
aggressiveness (degree) of cancer, and whether the cancer cells have hormone receptors or other
receptors that can influence treatment options.

Mammary images by magnetic resonance. The magnetic resonance machine uses a magnet and radio
waves to produce images of the inside of the breast. Before the MRI of the breast, you will be given an
injection of a dye. Unlike other types of diagnostic imaging tests, magnetic resonance does not use
radiation to create the images.
Stages of breast cancer

Once the doctor has done Breast Cancer Treatment in Delhi, it will seek to determine the grade (stage)
of cancer. The stage of cancer helps determine the prognosis and the best treatment options. It is
possible that complete information about the cancer stage is not available until after you undergo
breast cancer surgery.

Tests and procedures used to determine the stage of breast cancer may include:
• Blood tests, such as a complete blood count
• Mammography of the other breast to look for signs of cancer
• Magnetic resonance mammary
• Bone scintigraphy
• Computed tomography (CT) scan
• Positron emission tomography

Not all women should perform all these tests and procedures. The cancerconsultindia will select the
appropriate tests according to your specific situation and any new symptoms you may have.

The stage of breast cancer can vary from 0 to IV; 0 indicates a non-invasive breast cancer or contained
within the milk ducts. Stage IV breast cancer, called "metastatic breast cancer" is breast cancer that has
spread to other parts of the body.
