Is stage 4 stomach cancer curable?

Well, what has been a stout situation for this world for years has now been conquered with the advancement in science, and here we shall talk about stomach cancer. As the name suggests, stomach cancer is a type of cancer that grows in the stomach while the words cannot measure its severity, but it's the least found cancer in India.

It is the toughest phase of life for a patient because it is their life which is certainly at stake and what gives a sigh of relief to the patient is that the disease is curable and there is a treatment for the same.

Let us discuss the possible treatments for stage 4 cancer:

1. Surgery - If the tumour is preventing the food from passing by, gastric bypass surgery is a plausible solution. If the tumour is removed from the body through gastrectomy surgery, it helps ease bleeding and pain.

2. Laser Therapy – It is certainly a therapeutic treatment aimed at destroying the tumours, stopping bleeding, or trying to lessen the stomach's blockage. This does not have any prerequisite surgery as it is a therapy. The treatment is performed by inserting a long hollow tube that we call endoscope down the throat into the stomach for the laser to concentrate on the tumour and treat the same. And if the tumour is causing such a blockage which does not allow the food to pass through, then a stent is placed between the stomach and small intestine (oesophagus).

3. Chemotherapy – It is a medication-directed treatment that focuses on different medication types because different medicines treat differently and tend to make the cancer cells more vulnerable to the treatment. It is typically given orally to many patients by using pills or intravenously (directly injecting into the veins).

4. Radiation Therapy – It is a type of therapeutic treatment which is essentially given to provide relief to the patients in pain. It is also performed before any treatment to shrink the size of the tumor. Knowing about our current health status is very important but what is even more important is that if the treatments are going to help us improve the life expectancy and get the patient's life back to normalcy.

While here we are considering stage 4 stomach cancers, then we should know what the life expectancy of a stage 4 patient is:

1. We should know that stage 4 of cancer is life-threatening.

2. The overall health and a patient's age play a big role in this fight because a healthy body will respond to the medicines and treatment more appreciatively.

3. The treatment you choose is also very important because what kind of treatment will your body respond to always remains suspenseful.

But as we said that with the evolution in scientific methods, the world has been keen on offering solutions to complex problems and cancer has been given the priority, but science can be of use to us only if we get the right expertise and consultation and to offer the best consultation we have Dr. Manish Singhal.

Having discussed everything, we must know who would be the best cancer specialist; there is one name which echoes down the road, Dr. Manish Singhal.
